Although the American Girl website was available earlier in the 90s, the American Girl web store didn’t debut until late 1999. Here’s the homepage you would be greeted with when visiting the website in late 99:
Below is what the store homepage looked like. View the screen capture to see the graphics:
The home pages for each product line (the original American Girl Gear page unfortunately wouldn’t load):
The American Girls Collection
Here are pictures of The American Girls Collection pages. Not all of the pages from 99 would load, but the pages from early 2000 are the same.
Now for some assorted screenshots of the product pages. The pages originally would have been formatted for a square monitor, not a wide screen or phone, so the pages aren’t completely as they would have been in 99.
American Girl Today
A sampling of the American Girl Today pages (some pages may be screenshots from 2000, but that’s the earliest available capture from that page):
Bitty Baby:
None of the individual doll pages would load, only the starter set.
Amelia:
Unfortunately, these pages wouldn’t properly load:
Gear for Girls
I could only get one page to load for this line and it was from 2000-2001:
Enter to Win a Trip!
There was a giveaway link on the e-store homepage and here are the details:
This giveaway sounded so cool! The Grand price for 2 people included round trip plane tickets, 2 nights and 3 days of hotel accomodations, tickets for The American Girls Revue, lunch at the American Girl Cafe and a $250 shopping spree. And there were 30 winners total!
